FED: Turnbull should have joined the ALP: Keneally

Award winning author THOMAS KENEALLY has admitted his one-time fellow republican movement
stalwart MALCOLM TURNBULL is unlikely to move from the Liberal to the Labor Party.

The Schindler's List author called on the embattled Liberal Party leader yesterday
to make the switch.

Mr KENEALLY says Mr TURNBULL should never have joined the Liberal Party .. where he's
being torn between .. what he calls .. the progressives and the troglodytic knuckle draggers
of the back bench.

Both Mr KENEALLY and Mr TURNBULL chaired the Australian Republican Movement in the
1990s ahead of the failed referendum.

But Mr KENEALLY admits his call is likely to be ignored.
