Former Solomon Islands Attorney-General JULIAN MOTI .. who's facing child sex charges
.. has had his bail conditions reduced in a brief court hearing in Brisbane.

He was released from a Brisbane prison early last month and ordered by a court to report
to police daily.

MOTI .. who appeared in court today .. will now have to report to police three times a week.

His defence team argued it was difficult for him to meet the daily reporting requirement
.. but didn't go into detail.

MOTI won't have to appear for the next court mention on March 14.

It's understood he's living with his parents in Sydney.

MOTI .. a Fiji-born Australian citizen .. was arrested in December at Brisbane International
Airport after being deported from Honiara following his sacking as attorney-general by
new Prime Minister DEREK SIKUA.

He's charged under Commonwealth law with seven counts of engaging in sexual intercourse
with a person under 16 .. relating to the alleged rape of a 13-year-old girl in Vanuatu
in 1997.

Earlier this year his lawyer CHRIS NYST said his client denied the charges and believed
the Australian government was trying to have him removed as Solomons attorney-general
following his criticism of Australia's involvement in Pacific Islands affairs.
