NSW: Officers to be policed by curfew at Goulburn

Police trainees and officers at the New South Wales police college will have to abide
by strict curfews .. after a series of alcohol-fuelled incidents.

The crackdown .. announced by Police Commissioner KEN MORONEY .. comes after news that
off-duty officers engaged in indecent behaviour in Goulburn on late Thursday night and
early Friday morning.

In one case an officer was caught allegedly urinating on a fence.

Police are also investigating several other cases .. including an officer allegedly
refusing to leave a Goulburn licensed premises .. and an alleged altercation with a member
of the public.

The latest revelations come after the New South Wales Ombudsman BRUCE BARBOUR criticised
police over claims some officers at the college demanded sexual favours and threatened
students with failure.

Mr MORONEY today announced a review of all state police workplace and sexual harassment
policies and procedures by sexual harassment law expert CHRISTINE RONALD .. SC.

But he's rejected claims there's a culture of cover-up in the police force.
