FED: Tuckey warns on One Nation
Federal Forestry Minister WILSON TUCKEY says Western Australia's Liberal government and the
Labor opposition will only have themselves to blame if One Nation has a significant result in
the next state election.
Mr TUCKEY's warning follows an increased One Nation push for support in WA.
One Nation head PAULINE HANSON expects to visit WA's forestry areas this week to capitalise
on disenchantment among timber workers about state government plans to further restrict
logging in old growth forests.
Mr TUCKEY's told ABC Radio Ms HANSON's run is over and if her party gains more support, the
state Liberal, National and Labor parties are to blame.
WA has been dogged by ongoing controversy about forest protection during heated debate on
the Regional Forest Agreement, a debate which has also left conservationists unsatisfied.
One Nation state director TED VERMEER's told ABC radio his party intends to use the forest
issue to gain support.
